Deploy an app Claude Code built so only your company can use it

Put it on a private cloud that only people signed in to your company can open, not on the open web. With Patchy Cloud, you give Claude Code one setup line, have it build or adapt the app for Patchy, then ask it to publish: the app goes live behind your company login, and every version is kept.

Before you start

Patchy Cloud runs tools made with its own kit. If Claude Code built your app another way, say a Next.js site or a Python app with its own server, it won’t run here as it is. Ask Claude Code to rebuild it as a Patchy tool; it can start from what it already made. A simple report or page can go up as one HTML file, which Claude Code can prepare.

Tools can’t reach the internet. An app that calls an outside service, such as OpenAI or Stripe, won’t work. To use your company’s data, an admin connects it, such as a Postgres database or a company email address on Pidgeon, and tools reach it through Patchy Cloud.

What you need

  • An invitation to Patchy Cloud. It’s in beta: join the waitlist with your work email. If your company is already in, ask an admin to invite you.
  • Claude Code on your computer.
  • Node.js 22.22.0 or newer, which setup uses to install patchy, Patchy’s command-line tool. Your agent can check, and the installer tells you if your version is too old.
  • Chrome, or another Chromium browser such as Edge, on a computer, for you and your coworkers. Phones, Safari and Firefox aren’t supported.
  • A company based in the US. The beta is for US companies.

Steps

  1. Get into Patchy Cloud

When your invitation arrives, sign in with a code sent to your email. If you’re the first from your company, you name it and become its admin. If a coworker got there first, ask them to invite you, then choose Join.

  2. Give Claude Code the setup line

Paste this into Claude Code. It installs Patchy, then replies with a link and a short code. Open the link, check the code matches, name this computer and confirm. Claude Code can now publish as you.

    Paste into Claude Code

    Set up Patchy using https://cloud.patchyhq.com/llms.txt

Using auto mode? Patchy offers to add your company’s cloud to auto mode’s settings, so it stops treating a company-only page as data leaving the company. Auto mode still checks every publish.

  3. Ask for the app, and mention Patchy

Claude Code sets up a Patchy project, talks through how the app should behave, then builds it. It runs the app on your computer first, so you can try it, including as a coworker would see it.

    Say, for example

Build us a lead tracker with Patchy

Rebuild the app in this folder as a Patchy tool

  4. Publish it

Say “Publish it.” Claude Code runs Patchy’s publish command. Patchy Cloud checks the app and puts it live at your company’s address.

  5. Send your team the link

Coworkers who are signed in open it straight away. Anyone signed out is asked to sign in, and people outside your company can’t open it. The app also appears on your company’s Home in Patchy Cloud, where people can search for it. To add a coworker who isn’t in yet, an admin invites them from the People page.

  6. Change it, or go back

Ask Claude Code for a change and publish again. Each publish is a new version, and every version is kept. If one goes wrong, roll back from the app’s Versions page in Patchy Cloud, or ask Claude Code to. Rolling back changes the app, not the data saved in it.

Who can open it

  • Yes

Coworkers signed in to your company

All of them, with nothing extra to set up.

  • No

    People outside your company

They can’t open it. Anyone signed out is asked to sign in.

  • Not yet

Only some coworkers, like one team

A company tool opens for everyone in the company.

  • If you choose

    Anyone with the link

Only if you make it public, which works for pages and simple tools. A public tool can’t save data or read company data, and tools that run code on Patchy’s servers can’t be public.

Questions

Is it free?

Yes, during the beta. If pricing comes, the beta terms promise at least 7 days’ notice by email.

Do I need to know how to code?

No. You say what you want and Claude Code writes it. People who code publish with the same command.

Can the app use our database?

Yes, once an admin connects it: a Postgres database, for reading only. An admin can connect a few other sources too, such as a PostHog project or a company email address on Pidgeon. The app never sees the password. See Let an AI-built tool use company data safely.

Can a coworker change my app?

Not its code. Only you can publish to an app you own, and Patchy Cloud refuses a new version from anyone else’s agent. Admins can still manage it, for example roll it back, or hand it to someone else if you leave.

Is what’s saved in it backed up?

Keep your own copy of anything you can’t afford to lose. Patchy Cloud is in beta, and its terms say it may lose data.

I use Codex. Is it different?

The steps are the same. See Share a tool you made with Codex with your team.
