Can I share Codex apps with my team without ChatGPT Enterprise?
Yes. As of October 23, 2026, OpenAI says Sites, its hosting for apps built in ChatGPT or Codex, is available on ChatGPT Plus and Pro and in supported Business and Enterprise workspaces, so if your team already works in ChatGPT, start there. Patchy Cloud fits when your team also builds with other agents, such as Claude Code, or wants its tools on a private cloud for the company, with your database connected once by an admin.
Before you start
Sites may well be the better fit. If your team already works in ChatGPT, it’s built in. Depending on your plan, OpenAI’s help center also lists things Patchy Cloud doesn’t do yet: sharing with selected people or groups, named viewers from outside your company, custom domains, scheduled updates, and sites that use each visitor’s own connected apps or call outside services.
Patchy Cloud fits a different team. One that builds with more than one agent, where the people who’d open the tools don’t all have ChatGPT, or where you want an admin to connect your company’s database once, read-only, with tools never seeing the password.
Plans change. We read OpenAI’s pages on October 23, 2026: Creating and using ChatGPT Sites and Managing ChatGPT Sites for your workspace. Check them for what your plan includes today.
What you need
- For Sites: ChatGPT Plus or Pro, or a supported Business or Enterprise workspace. Sites isn’t on Free or Go.
- For Patchy Cloud: an invitation. It’s in beta, so join the waitlist with your work email.
- For Patchy Cloud: Codex, Claude Code or another agent that can run commands on your computer.
- For Patchy Cloud: a company based in the US, and Chrome or another Chromium browser on a computer.
Steps
Check whether Sites is in your plan
Sites is available on ChatGPT Plus and Pro and in supported Business and Enterprise workspaces, but not on Free or Go, and OpenAI says availability depends on rollout and workspace settings. Business workspaces have it on by default. In Enterprise, admins choose who can create and publish Sites, and publishing to the public starts off. You build a Site in Work on ChatGPT’s website, or in Work or Codex in the ChatGPT desktop app, and building counts toward your Codex usage.
Decide who needs to open it
Depending on your plan, a Site can be shared with selected people or groups, everyone in your ChatGPT workspace, or anyone on the internet where that’s allowed. Unless it’s public, visitors sign in with a ChatGPT account that has access. A Patchy Cloud tool opens for everyone signed in to your company there, with a code sent to their email, and for nobody outside it unless you make it public.
Decide what data it needs
Each Site has its own database and file storage. In supported Business and Enterprise workspaces, a Site can also use each visitor’s own connected apps. Each Patchy Cloud tool has its own storage too, and an admin can connect company data once, such as a Postgres database for reading only, or a company email address on Pidgeon that tools can send from if the admin allows it. Tools reach it through Patchy Cloud and never see the password or key.
Check which agents your team uses
Sites are built in ChatGPT or Codex. Patchy Cloud works with Codex, Claude Code and other agents that run commands on your computer, so a team that uses several agents publishes to one place.
If Patchy Cloud fits, give Codex the setup line
Codex installs Patchy and replies with a link and a short code to confirm. Then ask it to publish. The Codex guide has every step.

Questions
Do I need ChatGPT Enterprise to use Sites?
No. As of October 23, 2026, OpenAI’s help center says Sites is available on ChatGPT Plus and Pro and in supported Business and Enterprise workspaces. It isn’t available on Free or Go.
Does Sites cost extra?
OpenAI says hosting is currently included with Plus and Pro, and hosting charges are currently waived for Enterprise. Building or editing a Site counts toward your Codex usage.
Do coworkers need ChatGPT to open a Patchy Cloud tool?
No. They need an invitation to your company on Patchy Cloud, and Chrome or another Chromium browser on a computer.
Can a Patchy Cloud tool use our Google Drive or Slack?
Not yet. Tools use only the sources an admin connects, such as a Postgres database, a PostHog project or a company email address on Pidgeon, and they can’t reach the internet.
Is Patchy Cloud free?
Yes, during the beta. If pricing comes, the beta terms promise at least 7 days’ notice by email.
